Promoting does not mean copying the link into Facebook and Twitter, or telling your friends. That is not promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t write without knowing why, for whom, and what outcome you want from the article.<\/p>\n<p>Content marketing isn&#8217;t about you, it&#8217;s about what your readers get out of the deal.<\/p>\n<p>Understand how your audience discovers new information by using Google Analytics, and then make sure that they can consume your content via these mediums.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"write stellar content\" href=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/how-to-write-stellar-content-consistently\/\" target=\"_blank\">How do readers consume your content<\/a>? What devices? What types of posts?<\/p>\n<p>What can you do to motivate sharing and to make it easier?<\/p>\n<p>Who are you writing for?<\/p>\n<p>Find your audience&#8217;s <strong>Preferences, Pain Points, and Behaviors.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What do they care about?<\/p>\n<p>What stories will connect you?<\/p>\n<p>Use social networking, SEO networking, and PR services if you need to.<\/p>\n<p>Why are you creating your content? Have a clear audience and purpose in mind each time you put together a post.<\/p>\n<p>Specificity is very important for SEO &#8211; make sure to organize your posts into categories.<\/p>\n<p>Readers don&#8217;t know you even exist \u2013 what will they be searching, and how can you build your content around that?<\/p>\n<p>He shared these <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toprankblog.com\/2011\/06\/content-marketing-definition-tactics\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">30 Content Marketing Tips<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Try using a keyword matrix<\/p>\n<p>1 2 3<\/p>\n<p>a<\/p>\n<p>b<\/p>\n<p>c<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t connect networks to each other, but connect your content to individual networks.<\/p>\n<p>do you have any tips for getting looks from StumbleUpon users, apart from having quality content, which is a given? And is that traffic meaningless? (Note that I&#8217;ve taken their tips into account and that it looked much different a day or two ago.)<\/p>\n<p>Three things that every visitor should be able to answer:<\/p>\n<p>Where am I?<\/p>\n<p>Why should I care?<\/p>\n<p>What should I do next?<\/p>\n<p>Add a tagline to the header that answers the question &#8220;why should I care?&#8221; at least partially. Make the tagline specific.<\/p>\n<p>Add more to <a title=\"email marketing tips\" href=\"http:\/\/techwalls.com\/blogging\/email-marketing-tips-building-subscriber-base\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">the subscribe form<\/a>, and never ever ever use the word &#8220;subscribe&#8221; on your button. Say &#8220;sign up&#8221; or &#8220;join.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t give people too many options &#8211; if you do, they&#8217;ll just get overwhelmed and not click on anything.<\/p>\n<p>Focus on one or two social networks &#8211; you don&#8217;t need to be present everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>Derek Halpern even suggests that you don&#8217;t need social media buttons <em>at all<\/em>, but Chris Garrett disagrees, but agrees that they should be small and not taking away from what you really want readers to do: subscribe.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Negative social proof&#8221; \u2013 if you don&#8217;t get a lot of sharing on certain networks, then take off those buttons.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t display dates in the url or on the site next to the posts.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t talk about yourself in the About page &#8211; let readers know how your content is going to help <em>them<\/em>, not you.<\/p>\n<p>Clicking text and reading text should always be two different colors.<\/p>\n<h2>7 Facebook Marketing Tips<\/h2>\n<p>Add a subscribe button to your Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>Draw attention to custom Facebook apps in your timeline cover photo.<\/p>\n<p>Cover image \u2013 851 x 315 pixels<\/p>\n<p>Profile image \u2013 160&#215;160 pixels<\/p>\n<p><strong>Facebook&#8217;s rules for the timeline cover photo \u2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No price or puchase info<\/p>\n<p>No contact info<\/p>\n<p>No reference to like or share or whatever<\/p>\n<p>No calls to action<\/p>\n<p>No promotions, coupons, or ads<\/p>\n<p>Cover photo should not be primarily text based<\/p>\n<p>Remember: most people are on Facebook to have fun!<\/p>\n<p>Create a custom app strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Use Lujure to create said custom app strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Custom Fan Page Designs<\/p>\n<p>Thumbnails for apps \u2013 111&#215;74 pixels<\/p>\n<p>Facebook rule: no thumbnails for photos, videos, notes, likes, or events<\/p>\n<p><strong>Use these features on your page:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>Pinning and highlighting<\/p>\n<p>Scheduled post<\/p>\n<p>Promoted posts<\/p>\n<p>Always have a call to action in any posts that you pin up (pins last for 7 days).<\/p>\n<p>Highlighted posts stretch across the top and take up more space, increasing visibility.<\/p>\n<p>Use the model: if you want &#8220;x&#8221; just say YES and hit the LIKE button<\/p>\n<p><strong>8 Models for Community<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>There are many types of membership sites.<\/p>\n<p>Focus more on HOW EASY it is to access content than the content that you put on a paid membership site.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Publisher model<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s like a magazine &#8211; fresh new content, regularly updated, people who join get total access.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. UPS Model<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a package of content with monthly access.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Modular course<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Delivered once per month, and members have access to only one mod at a time.<\/p>\n<p>Example: <a href=\"http:\/\/webartacademy.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Web Art Academy<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Protected download<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Deliver digital goods, and have a download page for each product.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Protected forum<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>There&#8217;s no content, but you&#8217;re providing a central site for discussions.<\/p>\n<p>You must be a member to chat, and you get total access.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. Private Members Area<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>It&#8217;s not always content &#8211; this can be resources, one on one communication, or other things.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7. Coaching site<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>Basically a site where you offer one-on-one coaching for a monthly fee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8. Combo Model<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any combination of the above!
