Blogs can really get a lot of steam behind them if their social media platforms are thriving<\/a> with engaged users ready to share and comment on content.<\/p>\n

There’s really no “best” social media site, as the response that you get from different initiatives really depends on the ways in which readers consume your information. (Niche can also play a big role in which social sites drive traffic to your site.)<\/p>\n

Regardless of which services may or may not be benefiting you at the moment, making a Daily List is something that every blogger should do<\/strong>. Why? It makes sure that you’re, as they say, “doing it right” when it comes to social media.<\/p>\n

Uncreative Vs. Creative Activities<\/h2>\n

Sure, I just made up these concepts on the spot, but you’ll know exactly the types of things that I’m referring to once I get into what I mean by the terms “Uncreative” and “Creative” activities.<\/p>\n

The best way to help you get my point is probably to list examples of both types of productivity.<\/p>\n

Uncreative<\/strong><\/p>\n

Posting in general<\/p>\n

Adding plugins to the site<\/a><\/p>\n

Many social media initiatives and responsibilities<\/p>\n

Answering emails<\/p>\n

Creative<\/strong><\/p>\n

Drafting post ideas<\/p>\n

Creating new initiatives<\/p>\n

Designing a new logo<\/a><\/p>\n

Basically, Uncreative Activities are the “doing,” and the Creative Activities are the “drafting.” <\/strong>Without Creative Activities, you’ll find that the Uncreative Activities do you little good. At the same time, Uncreative Activities are nothing without Creative Activities.<\/p>\n

Things That Should Be On Your Daily List<\/h2>\n

When you’re trying to get your daily work done, you don’t want to waste time thinking about what you need to get done. In order to maximize your time, you should have a plan.<\/p>\n

Your Daily List should focus mainly on Uncreative Activities, as these are things that you need to get done every day. They may not be fun, but they are vital to the performance of your blog<\/a>; especially if you’re looking to make a jump in the social media department.<\/p>\n

Before I talk about what should be on every Daily List<\/strong>, take a look at mine so that I can easily reference it without confusion.<\/p>\n

You’ll notice that there’s no posting on this daily list, although I had previously noted posting as an Uncreative Activity. While I still stick to this idea, I do not write the same posts every day, so it doesn’t make sense for me to put these items on my daily to do list.<\/p>\n

Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest are the social media sites that drive the most traffic to my site, and they are the three that I choose to focus on. (You shouldn’t ever be trying to maintain a ton of social profiles – it’s a much better strategy to pick two or three and make sure that they’re updated often and to a certain quality standard.)<\/p>\n

Something very important to notice about the Daily List in terms of social media: nowhere does it say that I should promote my own stuff. <\/strong>I don’t need a list to remind me to share my posts on social media, so that’s one reason why that aspect is glaringly absent, but the point of the list is also to ensure that I do more <\/em>than the minimum required. Sure, I could never share anything but my own articles, but that’s not the way you’ll really build traction on social media websites.<\/p>\n

Take SuperHeroStuff’s Facebook page<\/a>, for example. 131k likes? We all wish we had that kind of action on our fan pages. If you take a look at the content that they share, however, you’ll notice something interesting. Very little of it is from their site, which sells Superhero-themed items. <\/strong>People on Facebook don’t want to come have you throw posts in their faces, they want to enjoy themselves and find awesome content! Just because it isn’t yours doesn’t mean you shouldn’t share it – in fact, the main point of this daily list is to get yourself to start sharing the content of others! Yes, it may seem counter-intuitive, but this will definitely benefit you in the long run.<\/p>\n
