According to a Korean report, Samsung is already working on the second generation Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch which is currently in development phase.<\/p>\n

According to the report, the company is preparing different pieces of the smartwatch and is gearing up to complete the whole process by the end of this year. With this, the report also suggested that Samsung could release the Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch at the CES event next year in January or the MWC event which follows a month later.<\/p>\n

Considering the less popular Galaxy Gear 1 smartwatch<\/a>, the idea of developing another smartwatch does not seem a good fit for Samsung. But the company has replied to the above statement stating that the first smartwatch was just a test to see the public reaction and the amount of market it can gain considering the Sony smartwatch was already in the market. The first smartwatch by Samsung was exclusive to only two devices \u2013 Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 10.1, it is said that not many people got their hands on the smartwatch since majority couldn\u2019t afford the cost handsets to which it was associated.<\/p>\n

But good news is that Samsung has revealed its plans that the Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch will be compatible with all the Android smartphones released by the company to date and will also feature GPS functionality that Samsung has long said that they are working to bring it to the the smartwatch.<\/p>\n

It is quite interesting to see how the competitors will react to this news about the Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch as Samsung already beaten Apple into the race of smartwatch, we still haven\u2019t heard anything from the Apple regarding their iWatch which, according to some reports, have been delayed due to some reasons and Apple has recently acquired a high number of engineers for its iWatch project.<\/p>\n
