It is claimed to be the pocket-sized weather-resistant speaker with loud and strong bass.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve used the speaker in the last few weeks and it seems like just half of the statement is true. Let&#8217;s figure out if this is the right wireless speaker for you.<\/p>\n<h2>Unboxing Video<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eFXSnpKFLJc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Design &amp; Features<\/h2>\n<p>I&#8217;ve tried some Creative products lately and I must say I&#8217;m so impressed with its design, and the Muvo Mini is not an exception. Although the whole unit is made of plastic, it feels so sturdy and I don&#8217;t think it will break easily. The plastic shell has a nice soft-touch matte finish which provides a better grip and moreover, it will always look clean. You should be careful with scratches though. Anyway, I love the build quality and red unit looks particularly stunning. The speaker is available in some more colors like black, blue and white.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/creative-muvo-mini-bluetooth-speaker-review\/creative-muvo-mini-speaker-1\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8546\" src=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Creative-Muvo-Mini-Speaker-1.jpg\" alt=\"Creative-Muvo-Mini-Speaker-1\" width=\"618\" height=\"411\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Creative-Muvo-Mini-Speaker-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Creative-Muvo-Mini-Speaker-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Creative-Muvo-Mini-Speaker-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 618px) 100vw, 618px\" \/><\/a>All controls are put on top of the speaker, you can see the power button, Bluetooth button and volume up\/down button. Opening the flap will reveal a 3.5mm audio jack and a mini-USB port for charging the unit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/creative-muvo-mini-bluetooth-speaker-review\/creative-muvo-mini-speaker-3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8548\" src=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Creative-Muvo-Mini-Speaker-3.jpg\" alt=\"Creative-Muvo-Mini-Speaker-3\" width=\"616\" height=\"410\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Creative-Muvo-Mini-Speaker-3.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Creative-Muvo-Mini-Speaker-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Creative-Muvo-Mini-Speaker-3-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 616px) 100vw, 616px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As a portable speaker, I really think the weather-resistant feature if so important. What&#8217;s the point of a portable speaker that you can&#8217;t bring it to a pool party or to the beach! The Muvo Mini features the\u00a0IP66 certification, that means it is completely protected against dust and water splashes.<\/p>\n<h2>Audio Quality<\/h2>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been so satisfied with audio quality of some recent Creative products like the <a title=\"Creative T30 Wireless Computer Speaker System Review\" href=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/creative-t30-wireless-computer-speaker-system-review\/\">Creative T30 Wireless Speaker<\/a> and <a title=\"Creative Sound Blaster E5 USB DAC and Headphone Amplifier Review\" href=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/creative-sound-blaster-e5-usb-dac-and-headphone-amplifier-review\/\">Creative Sound Blaster E5<\/a>. Therefore, I expected a lot from the Muvo Mini as well. Under the front grill, there are two\u00a0full-range micro drivers and an oversized front bass radiator. It is said to deliver a clear stereo playback and a strong bass. Unfortunately, I am a little disappointed as it couldn&#8217;t meet my expectation. You can check out a sound test below. I recorded the sound with a microphone with flat characteristics, so hopefully you will get a better idea of its sound signature.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/93bmv_6AVa4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The speaker can produce quite a loud sound. Unfortunately, the low responses are poorly delivered, so you almost can&#8217;t feel the bass on the speaker. The highs are not impressive either, it fails to deliver a clear treble and the sound can be easily distorted when I crank up the volume. I also don&#8217;t like soundstage produced by the speaker, the sound is kind of boxy probably due to the weather-proof enclosure.<\/p>\n<p>I tested the Muvo Mini alongside my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jEF6DekqXZs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Bose Soundlink Mini<\/strong><\/a> and there was a huge difference. But you should know that the Bose costs more than 3 times the price of the Creative speaker. They have almost the same size but target totally different consumers.<\/p>\n<h2>Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Pros<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Great build quality.<\/li>\n<li>Water and dust resistant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cons<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mediocre sound.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00LUCXXTC\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B00LUCXXTC&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=twall-20&amp;linkId=N4VNDT2Y5JJWCTQC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><strong>Creative Muvo Mini Bluetooth speaker<\/strong><\/a> is available on Amazon for $59.
