I really hate combination padlocks because it is so difficult to see those numbers in the dark, and more importantly, it is so insecure if someone is watching over you and knows the combination. They can steal\u00a0your bike or break in your house easily after that.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/quicklock-padlock-the-first-nfc-and-bluetooth-smart-padlock\/padlock-1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8680\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8680\" src=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/padlock-1.jpg\" alt=\"padlock-1\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/padlock-1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/padlock-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/padlock-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Quicklock is a keyless padlock offering Bluetooth 4.0 or NFC for unlocking. Basically, you can use your smartphone, the included NFC card, or some extra accessories like ring or fob. After installing the app, you can unlock the padlock inside the app. There is also an Auto Unlock option but you will still need to open the app on your phone and turn on Bluetooth to make it work. Therefore, using smartphone is not really a convenient solution in this case. The NFC card works better as I just need to press the button on the padlock and wave the card in front of it, the padlock will be unlocked immediately. I&#8217;ve tried many many times and it&#8217;s been always unlocked successfully.<\/p>\n<p>Now, you might realize that it is not more convenient than using a traditional\u00a0padlock. A prominent feature of the product is Access Control, it means you can keep record of who accessed the lock and when. Unfortunately, the feature hasn&#8217;t been available in the app at the time I received the review unit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/quicklock-padlock-the-first-nfc-and-bluetooth-smart-padlock\/padlock-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8681\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8681\" src=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/padlock-2.jpg\" alt=\"padlock-2\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/padlock-2.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/padlock-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.techwalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/padlock-2-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Besides, I&#8217;m also concerned\u00a0about its security in case the product becomes a mainstream. If\u00a0it grants access to any smartphone, someone could gain control to the padlock when he knows my passcode. Another issue is the battery, it is said to last 1-2 years but what happens when it runs out of battery? How can I open the lock? I absolutely don&#8217;t want to bring a portable charger to charge a padlock then. At the moment, you will be notified by a red LED when the battery is running low.<\/p>\n<p>The Quicklock Padlock is available in 4 colors.
