Sharp Aquos Crystal is the first Android smartphone by Sharp ever released in the U.S.. Unlike many other mid-range smartphones, the smartphone has impressed a lot of tech enthusiasts. It’s been more than half a year since it started hitting shelves but I still can’t forget the unique design of the Aquos Crystal.<\/p>\n

Let’s see what make the phone stand out.<\/p>\n

Direct Wave Receiver<\/h2>\n

The interesting feature allows you to hear voice from the other end easier. Just place your ear anywhere on the display and you will be able to hear the sound. The phone will transmit sound by vibrating the whole\u00a0display, that’s the reason why\u00a0you can’t find an ear speaker on the front.<\/p>\n

While the feature hasn’t been perfect in my real use, I find this is a great idea to produce smartphones with minimal design. As you can see on other smartphones on the market, they all have a big and ugly ear speaker on top of the display. I really hope Sharp will continue developing the technology to eliminate the earpiece.<\/p>\n

Edgeless screen<\/h2>\n

Seemingly Sharp stole the design from sci-fi movies and now we have an almost edgeless screen. All the bezels are slimmed down and you hardly can see them. When you turn on the phone, you will see how outstanding the edge-to-edge display is. It looks even better than any new flagship in 2015 like Samsung Galaxy S6 or LG G4.<\/p>\n

The 5-inch screen has the resolution of\u00a01,280 x 720 but it doesn’t look bad at all. Actually this brings some advantages like\u00a0saving battery and processing power. The 720p display is enough for the medium screen size.<\/p>\n

Harman Kardon Clari-fi<\/h2>\n

The technology has been found on a couple of high-end smartphones and now Sharp brings it to their own phone. It is built for people who listen to music on earphones. After turning on the Clari-fi feature, the sound quality will be improved\u00a0by restoring all types of compressed digital music and rebuilding the original sound.<\/p>\n
